About Web Standards
What are "Web Standards"?
"Web standards" are a set of guidelines for publishing webpages which are designed to make the world-wide-web better for all its users.
How does the B P Sanders website use Web Standards?
The B P Sanders website has been carefully designed using web-standards in order to make it accessible to all internet devices. Modern standards-compliant browsers will see the site as we intended, complete with graphics and an attractive layout. Older browsers and other devices will still see all of the information on the site, but through a simple, text-based interface.
What's wrong with my browser?
If you have been directed to this page you are using an old browser which does not support web standards. This means that although you can read the information on our pages it will not be presented in a very attractive manner. In order to see our website as we designed it we recommend that you upgrade to a more modern browser which does support web standards - there are several available for free. These include:
- Internet Explorer 6 or higher for Windows PCs
- Internet Explorer 5 or higher for Macs
- Netscape 6 or higher for all platforms, or
- Mozilla
Opera is also good, and although it is commercial software an advertising-supported version is available for free. Our website is one of many which will be enhanced by upgrading to one of these modern browsers.
Further Information
Further information on Web Standards and why you should upgrade can be found at The Web Standards Project. If you have any questions regarding this website please email the webmaster.
